At this year’s Chagford Film Festival in Devon they’re showing the 2021 documentary Stray. And because it’s a film about dogs, they’re welcoming along your pooch too!
If you haven’t heard of it, the film Stray follows the lives of three dogs in Turkey. Turkish law prohibits anyone from harming the stray dogs of Istanbul. And the result is a population of dogs co-existing with humans in a relatively harmonious way. So, this charming and thought-provoking documentary follows a few of these dogs as they make their way through the city.
A film for animal lovers
By watching the film, you’ll get to see the individual characters of these dogs and learn about their relationships with each other and with humans. It’s suitable for any age group to watch and anyone who loves animals will enjoy this screening. Especially as you can bring your best friend with you!
If you want to know more about the film, the BFI website has an interesting feature with the director Elizabeth Lo.
This dog-friendly film screening will be on Wednesday in the market town of Chagford as part of their annual film festival. It’s showing at Endecott House at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £7 each for humans and dogs go free! Plus, there’ll be water and biscuits available for your furry friend to enjoy whilst you watch the film.
