Review: THE FEAST, No-Hide chew by Earth Animal

Looking for a Christmas treat for your dog? Chews make great treats for dogs to enjoy. However, it can be difficult to find a healthy alternative to rawhide that your dog will enjoy. So, perhaps the festively named THE FEAST is the answer.

Rawhide treats are on the shelves of many pet shops and supermarkets at Christmas time. But, with concerns over the potential risks of rawhide chews, many of us are looking for a safer alternative for our dogs.

Thanks to Earth Animal‘s generous early Christmas present for our chief taste-tester, Poppy, we’re able to give THE FEAST our verdict.

THE FEAST, a Christmas dog treat

Earth Animal’s THE FEAST contains a seasonal mix of turkey, pumpkin and cranberries. As well as the three festive ingredients, the chew contains six natural ingredients: brown rice flour, organic eggs, olive oil, pineapple stem, banana and agar-agar.

The chew comes in small, medium and large sizes, so you can buy one that’s suitable for your dog’s size. Poppy enjoyed the medium-sized chew, which was quite substantial. She can devour treats at record-breaking speed, so it was nice to see this chew last quite a long time.

Chews can be handy to help keep dog’s teeth and gums healthy, and it was good to watch Poppy having a good old chew on THE FEAST. The flavour seemed to be a hit with Poppy, and she was very reluctant to leave the chew alone (but that’s beagles for you). All in all, I think Poppy very much loved her early Christmas present.

Dog chew safety

As with all chews and toys, we supervised Poppy whilst she was enjoying her treat. Especially as dogs have the habit of gulping down, not carefully chewing their food, you should always keep a watchful eye out for signs of choking.

If you like the sound of THE FEAST No-Hide festive chew, it’s available from all the usual pet retailers, including Fetch, Pets Corner and Just for Pets.
