Good Mood Food from Pooch & Mutt

British pet food brand, Pooch & Mutt, have just launched a new range of Good Mood Food for dogs to enjoy. These new dog treats are probiotic meaty treats, designed to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of our beloved pet pooches.

The Pooch & Mutt treats come in three tasty flavours, which aim to benefit our dog’s health in three specific ways.

Meaty treats in three different flavours

The Duck & Rosemary dog treats aim to help with dental health. This flavour comes with sage to protect against bacteria and gum disease. Whilst the sodium HMP aims to prevent tartar formation.

Next up, there’s the Shrimp & Coconut flavour treats, designed to help keep your dog’s skin and coat healthy. The treats contain omega 3 from shrimp, flaxseed and microalgae, plus collagen for peak skin condition.

Finally, there’s the Turkey & Hemp flavour dog treats. This one aims to reduce your best friend’s stress levels with valerian root and hemp. Plus, L-tryptophan to boost serotonin.

The three flavours of the new Pooch & Mutt dog treats all contain natural ingredients, alongside collagen for healthy skin and coats, and probiotics for healthy digestion.

About the ingredients

Pooch & Mutt came up with the new flavour treats after researching into animal preferences, common pet problems and physical wellbeing.

The idea behind the duck and rosemary flavour is to help reduce bacteria levels and plaque formation to maintain healthy gums. Not to mention, improving your dog’s breath.

In addition, collagen (a structural protein) has been added to aid gum healing, and boost jaw and tooth health. The sodium HMP has been scientifically proven to help to soften and remove calculus (without having to wrestle with a toothbrush).

Not just a taste of Thailand, the shrimp and coconut treats contain collagen and omega 3 to improve skin barrier function. A broken skin barrier can result in more infections and an urge to itch, which dog’s find hard to ignore. These treats aim to help keep skin healthy and hydrated.

As well as the omega 3, the shrimp treats contain melon, a natural source of antioxidants. This can help to reduce inflammation, something which is especially important for doggy patients with atopic dermatitis and allergies.

Finally, the ingredients in the turkey and hemp treats are designed to promote calmness and reduce stress and anxiety in dogs. Hemp is a natural stress reliever, rich in omega 3, omega 6 and antioxidants. These treats also contain valerian root, traditionally used in the treatment of sleep disorders. It acts as a mild sedative and can be useful for older dogs who struggle to sleep soundly.

Who are Pooch & Mutt?

Pooch & Mutt create tasty dog treats that place a focus on your pet’s mental and physical wellbeing.

Since 2007, Pooch & Mutt have been offering a healthy mainstream alternative to ‘junk-filled’ pet food. Their founder, Guy Blaskey came up with the brand after running with his dog (and company mascot) Pepper. Failing to find good quality pet food with an emphasis nutrition, Pooch & Mutt was born.

As well as dog treats, Pooch & Mutt also make complete, grain-free dry and wet food for dogs and cats, as well as natural supplements and chews.

The new collection of dog treats will be available online this month. They will also be in stores, including Sainsbury’s, from 24th January 2021. The individual flavours are available in packs of seven x 120g or as a Taster Pack containing one of each flavour (which I think we’ll be trying soon).

We like to keep a floppy ear to the ground for new and innovative dog brands. You can check out the latest news and honest reviews on our products page.
