If you’re a dog owner who likes their tech, there’s a wealth of gadgets designed to help make life better for you and your pet. PetSafe® have designed a range of dog-themed gizmos, from interactive toys to smart feeders. Here’s five of their fun gadgets.
Smart Feed Automatic Pet Feeder
So, first up is this high-tech feeder which can be used to feed dogs or cats with the help of a smartphone app. Using your phone, you can schedule, monitor and adjust your dog’s mealtimes from wherever you happen to be.
The feeder can dispense dry or semi-moist dog food, so it’s perfect for kibble. It has a slow-feed setting, so you can dispense small amounts at a time. This is a good option for dogs (like ours) that eat too fast.
Drinkwell® Butterfly Pet Fountain
This Butterfly Pet Fountain is designed to give your pet access to fresh, flowing water. The constant stream of water attracts dogs (and cats) to the fountain, encouraging them to drink and stay hydrated. This can be useful if you’re dog doesn’t seem to drink much from their bowl. Many dogs (including ours) prefer streams and natural water sources to the water from their bowls. So, if you’ve got a fussy dog, this may help.
The butterfly topper creates four water spouts to drink from, but this can be removed to create a quiet bubbling flow instead. It’s easy to clean and BPA-free, however it does require filters.
PetSafe® Automatic Ball Launcher
OK, now for something less practical and way more fun! This automatic ball launcher provides the ultimate game of fetch for dogs. It’s water-resistant, so you can use it for both indoor and outdoor interactive play. Although I’m not sure I’d want to use it indoors, as we have enough ‘accidents’ during playtimes.
However, it’s got nine distance settings and six angle settings to shoot standard sized tennis balls with. Its range is between 2.5 and 9 metres, so you could set it at short distances for indoor use and greater distances for outdoor play. It’s a good one for energetic dogs!
Kibble Chase™ Roaming Treat Dispenser
This fun interactive dog toy dispenses treats as it rolls across the floor. It moves in random patterns, enticing your dog as it goes. It’s a novel way to keep them active and entertained!
This pet gadget is simple to use, you just need a few small treats or a bit of kibble and three AA-sized batteries.
Ricochet Electronic Dog Toys
And the final gadget is another interactive dog toy. These two electronically-paired toys take it in turns to squeak. The sounds bounce between each toy to stimulate your dog and engage their natural instincts.
They’re great for playing hide and seek with!
